because i love them both, people often ask me which i find more important; music or fashion? and although fashion is a great way of expressing myself, i don’t know a time when i’ve ever been without music. it has always been important to me and has always been the one thing that keeps me going when all else fails. and i would choose music because it’s a male-dominated industry. not to say the fashion industry isn’t a competitive one but i find it to be more of a challenge and i like working with men. they’re straight forward and don’t keep grudges – which makes life a hell of a lot simpler. being around too much feminine energy makes me queasy and, at times, intimidating. it was the reason why i left the girl scouts and joined the cadets instead. i never quite understood why. and i guess i’m simply addicted to the feeling most musicians get when we perform or write a new song. orgasmic, that is.
